“Raising a family, making a living, and thriving in Santa Cruz is no small task as cost of living and housing affordability gets further and further out of reach for so many. As a tight-knit community, we often must lean on each other and leverage our collective resources to make it work. We’ve known Susie and Matt since our time together in pre-school 15 years ago. Susie, serving as co-president of the school’s nonprofit board, demonstrated leadership, empathy, courage, and care for our community’s families by fighting for our school’s longtime survival.  Knowing UCSC faculty and staff are faced with the same issues as every other Santa Cruz family, we believe Susie’s background supporting local families will be exceptionally helpful to our UCSC colleagues when she’s elected to Council. Susie is a resource we can all tremendously benefit from.”
